Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the minimum age that I have to be to rent a motorcycle from A7 Motorcycles?
A:The minimum age you must be is 25 years.
Q: Why do you require a security/excess deposit and why is it so much?
A: Unfortunately this is something that our insurance cover stipulates and is beyond our control.
Q: What documents do you require to enable me to rent a motorcycle?
A: We require to see your driving licence plus 1 other form of recognised i.d. eg: passport and utility bill (no more than 3 months old). If not resident in the UK, passport and credit card in addition to your driving licence is fine. In any event, at least one form of i.d must carry a photograph of you.
Q: Can I take one of your motorcycles to the Isle of Man, Ireland, Europe?
A: No. Our motorcycles can only be used on the UK mainland and the Scottish Islands. Unfortunately our machines cannot be ridden anywhere else.
Q: My friends and I are wanting to organise a group holiday using your motorcycles, can we rent a number of machines from you?
A: The maximum number of machines available on the one booking and/or group is 2 machines. In other words if you are a group of people requiring more than 2 machines, we are unable to fulfill this requirement. This is because of the increased risk of damage to our machines on the same rental.
Q: What protective clothing do you recommend I have?
A: It is a legal requirement in the UK to wear a crash helmet, so this is the absolute minimum. We do recommend that you have a windproof jacket, good quality leather gloves, stout boots or shoes. Preferably all clothing should be of the type specifically designed for motorcycling with approved protection fitted. Remember - you can never be too well protected!!!
Q: Do you rent out helmets?
A: Yes, we do , price is £15.00 per rental regardless of length of rental.
Q: Can I rent any other protective clothing?
A: Yes we can rent waterproof clothing which we rent out at £15.00 regardless of length of rental.
